Fisher Scientific Inc.
(NYSE: TMO), the world leader in serving
science, reported that revenues
increased 7% to a record $2.84 billion
in the fourth quarter of 2009, compared
with $2.65 billion in the 2008 quarter.
The revenue growth reflects the impact
of currency translation, which increased
revenues by 3%, and the effect of
acquisitions, which also increased
revenues by 3%.

Clinical Update on Pegsitacase
EnzymeRx, LLC,
a clinical-stage biotechnology company, today announced completion
of the enrollment of its first clinical trial of pegsitacase
(formerly called Uricase PEG 20), and the recent launch of a second
clinical study. Pegsitacase is a pegylated uricase being
developed by EnzymeRx for the treatment of refractory gout and for
the management of hyperuricemia associated with tumor lysis
syndrome.

(Denosumab) Complete Response Submission and Targets Action Date
Amgen Inc.
(Nasdaq: AMGN) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has evaluated the content of the Company's
Complete Response submission for Prolia(TM) (denosumab)
in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis and classified it as
a Class 2 resubmission. With the Class 2 designation, the FDA set a
corresponding Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) action date of
July 25, 2010. |

Rituxan Plus Chemotherapy for the Most Common Type
of Adult Leukemia
Genentech, Inc., a
wholly owned member of the Roche Group
(SIX: RO, ROG; OTCQX: RHHBY), and Biogen
Idec (Nasdaq: BIIB) announced today the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
approved RituxanŽ (rituximab) in
combination with fludarabine and
cyclophosphamide (FC) for people with
previously untreated and previously
treated CD20-positive chronic
lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

Abbott Completes Acquisition of
Solvay Pharmaceuticals
Abbott
today announced that it has completed its
EUR 4.5 billion ($6.2 billion) acquisition of
Belgium-based Solvay Pharmaceuticals, providing Abbott
with a large and complementary portfolio of
pharmaceutical products and expanding Abbott's presence
in key global emerging markets.
