Axis-Shield
(LSE:ASD, OSE:ASD),

international in vitro diagnostics company, today
announces that it has renewed its Afinion™ US
distribution contract with Abbott and
signed new agreements with Abbott’s Physician Office
Laboratory (POL) partner PSS World Medical, Inc. (PSS,
Nasdaq GS:PSSI). These agreements have an initial term
to 2011 and effectively extend and strengthen existing
distribution arrangements, giving Abbott and PSS
exclusive marketing rights to the Afinion™ system in the
United States. PSS has the largest physicians’ office
sales force in the USA with over 700 representatives.

superiority for measuring HbA1c at the point of care. We
